In this chapter of MBQMQB we will take a closer look at Italian society and investigate what it means to grow and live as members of the Black and Queer community in a strongly Eurocentric and heteronormative reality. Speaking with a group of individuals from all over the country, we will use photography and autobiographical narrative to describe each experience as a verdant oasis of innovation and light, isolated in an increasingly arid desert. Each of these stories forms a whole which is the very definition of black queerhood. This project intends to trace the boundaries of this reality, it represents the joining of hands and the collective sharing of individual experiences with the dual objective of narrating the beauty of the Black Queer Italian Experience but also denouncing racism, queerphobia, homophobia and transphobia that often accompany it.

In particular, this episode of the series - The Roundtable - takes the form of a conversation during which we wanted to create a physical manifestation of a safe space, originally virtual, with a round table of seven Italian Black Queers with whom we discussed the topics that we feel the need to address in an attempt to assert our voice and occupy the space we deserve.
